UCSF – Washington Cancer Center
The UCSF – Washington Cancer Center was established in 2017 to provide residents of the Tri-Cities (Fremont, Newark, Union City) access to the highest-quality cancer treatment, research and technology, close to home. UCSF physician Bogdan Eftimie serves as the medical director of the Cancer Center, which provides both inpatient and outpatient care.
Patients benefit from a network that combines the strengths, expertise and resources of both organizations to access the latest advances in treatment and research. This includes the opportunity for UCSF – Washington Cancer Center patients to participate in clinical trials and receive treatment in the same place. We are driven to advance patient care by identifying the most promising and precise therapies for every patient we treat, and finding the best solutions for the most difficult cases.

Our cancer care partnership also includes the Washington Radiation Oncology Center (ROC). Led by medical director and UCSF health radiation oncologist, Emi Yoshida, the ROC’s multidisciplinary team uses leading-edge treatment planning and delivery systems. Dr. Yoshida collaborates and works closely with physicians at the UCSF – Washington Cancer Center and others in the community.
