The UCSF Stop Smoking/Vaping/Chewing Class aims to empower anyone who wants to stop smoking, vaping, chewing or otherwise using tobacco. Whether this is your first time quitting or you've been working on it a long time, this class can support your efforts. What's more, the class is free, and you don't have to be a UCSF patient to enroll.
Four certified tobacco treatment specialists teach the class: registered nurse Suzanne Harris, physician assistant Sonia Sharma, and pharmacists Robin Corelli and Lisa Kroon.
There are four weekly sessions. Each lesson builds on the one before. You will learn about:
- Tobacco dependence
- Frequently used medications for ending tobacco dependence
- Ways to cope with cravings
- Strategies for staying free of using tobacco by any method
Sessions are taught on Zoom. (We are not currently offering an in-person option.) We keep the class small to allow everyone to easily participate in group discussions.
We have many classes scheduled for the coming months. Call us to ask questions or enroll.
