Sonoma Valley Hospital
In March 2018, UCSF Health and Sonoma Valley Hospital (SVH), a district hospital that serves Sonoma Valley residents and provides general acute care services, signed an affiliation agreement to create an integrated health care network.
As part of the agreement, UCSF has helped SVH appoint a new chief medical officer, Dr. Sujatha Sankaran. She collaborates with the hospital's medical directors and serves on the administration team, overseeing existing services and assisting with the launch of new services and programs. Working closely with UCSF Health's chief medical officer, Sankaran identifies new opportunities for collaboration between the two hospitals. She also continues to serve on the UCSF faculty as an associate professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine.
Additionally, the UCSF Department of Neurology supports Sonoma Valley Hospital's Emergency Department through telemedicine services and oversees its certified Acute Stroke Ready program. These services help SVH physicians assess complex neurological problems.

Video visits with urologist Dr. Peter Carroll
For patients with urological concerns, UCSF and SVH have teamed up to offer telemedicine appointments with UCSF's co-director of urologic cancer, Dr. Peter Carroll. Patients who live in or around Sonoma can now consult with Dr. Carroll from the comfort and safety of home. Any needed lab work or imaging tests may be completed at SVH for Dr. Carroll to review.
