Obstetrics, Gynecology & Perinatal Specialties at Mission Bay – Fourth Street

UCSF Obstetrics, Gynecology & Perinatal Specialties at Mission Bay – Fourth Street offers obstetric and gynecologic services for women of all ages.

In addition to well-woman gynecologic care, we provide consultation and continuing care for a wide spectrum of gynecologic conditions, including menopause symptoms, pelvic pain, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids (myomas), abnormal cervical cancer screening test results, vulvar abnormalities, menstrual complaints, and pediatric and adolescent gynecologic disorders. Our practitioners value collaborative decision-making as the most effective way to make sure each woman receives the care that's most appropriate for her.

Obstetric care includes managing both routine and high-risk pregnancies and genetic testing. One of the benefits of UCSF obstetric care is that you can find a medical provider to suit your pregnancy. You can choose to see a midwife or an obstetrician. And because our high-risk pregnancy specialists work alongside our other providers as one team, specialty care – if needed – can be provided seamlessly. Patients also have access to all pregnancy-related resources at UCSF.

Our Birth Center is state of the art and family oriented. All birthing suites are private and have a bathroom with a spa-style bathtub, a dedicated family area and a media wall for education and entertainment. Patients typically go through labor, deliver their baby and recover in the suite. After recovery, mother and baby move to a private postpartum room with its own bathroom and shower, as well as a dedicated family area with Wi-Fi and a sleeper sofa. For newborns who need special medical attention, we have one of the nation's finest intensive care nurseries. It's certified by the state of California as a regional intensive care nursery, meaning it provides all levels of newborn care.
