Marcia Degelman

Marcia Degelman is a massage therapist who provides chair and therapeutic massage at the Osher Center for Integrative Health. She also provides therapeutic massage to pediatric cancer patients, as well as their parents, when they stay at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, and she teaches meditation and guided visualization to cancer survivors.

Degelman has worked in massage therapy since 1980 and has completed more than 1,000 hours of training at the Boulder Massage Therapy Institute. She is trained in several massage styles, including craniosacral (a gentle technique that focuses on the spine and skull), deep Swedish, gentle shiatsu and ortho-bionomy (a system of relieving muscle tension through positioning).

Degelman is certified by the California Massage Therapy Council and National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. She has a certificate in pregnancy, labor and postpartum massage therapy from Kate Jordan Seminars, and she is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She developed Light Touch Acu-Therapy, a gentle technique of touch along the acupuncture meridians, which aims to alleviate pain for cancer patients.
