UCSF Laboratory Medicine performs diagnostic tests for patients in our hospitals and clinics. Your doctor may prescribe certain tests to better understand your medical condition. Our services include tests related to chemistry, hematology, immunology, genomics, metabolism, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, toxicology and transfusion medicine.
If you need your blood drawn, please refer to this list of locations to find the most convenient location for you, including sites specifically for patients with cancer. Please refer to the special test instruction page for information on where and when various tests are available. To avoid delays, we recommend checking MyChart to confirm that your provider placed a lab order before you schedule a blood draw appointment or walk into the lab. If you don't see the order, or if you have questions, contact your provider or clinic. Please note that we can't accept orders from out-of-state providers.
If you'd like direct access to your laboratory results, sign up for MyChart. With rare exceptions, lab results are released to MyChart for direct viewing by the patient. Alternatively, you can contact your provider or clinic for results. We're unable to provide results in hard copy (printed out), but you can request them through the methods listed on this page.
If you have lab orders for collection at Quest or Labcorp, please visit their websites for location and appointment information.
