Organ transplant, blood cancer and radiation oncology patients have priority when reserving rooms. Other patients may be able to stay for short periods, depending on availability.

May I bring someone with me?

Patients who need assistance with daily activities, such as dressing and bathing, may bring an adult caregiver (at least 18 years old) to share the room.

How do I make a reservation?

Please tell your UCSF Health care team that you'd like to speak to a social worker about reserving a room at Kôz Hospitality House. The social worker will be able to request a reservation.

How much does it cost?

The rate is $150 per night. If the cost is prohibitive for you, please discuss this with the Kôz Hospitality House staff. You may qualify for a reduced rate.

The length of each stay depends on the patient's specific needs and room availability.

Due to COVID-19, we currently don't allow visitors.

Am I allowed to smoke?

Smoking is strictly forbidden at Kôz Hospitality House, as well as at all UCSF Health facilities. Nicotine gum is available in our hospital gift shops and local pharmacies.

Kôz Hospitality House doesn't have a parking area, but guests may park for free at the nearest UCSF garage, located a few blocks away. Eligible patients may apply for a temporary disabled parking placard that will allow them to park on the street anytime, excluding designated street cleaning times and any other San Francisco city restrictions posted in the neighborhood.

How do I pay for my stay?

Please pay for the full price of your stay when you check in. Kôz Hospitality House accepts cash and credit cards.

Kôz Hospitality House

Many UCSF Health patients travel long distances to seek our care. We recognize the importance of supporting these patients during what can be a stressful and extended stay far from home. The Kôz Hospitality House was founded to provide comfortable, reasonably priced accommodations for these patients during treatment.

Kôz Hospitality House is located just west of UCSF's Parnassus Heights campus. The three-story building has 27 bedrooms. Each bedroom has a private bathroom and either two twin beds or a twin bed and a foldout sleeper chair.

TVs in all bedrooms
