Foot & Ankle Service
The UCSF Foot and Ankle Service specializes in evaluating and treating disorders of the lower leg, ankle and foot. Our staff is experienced with conditions that require surgery to repair the small bones and tendons of the foot and ankle. We also offer advice about simple lifestyle changes, such as choosing well-fitting shoes, that can help with some conditions.
To manage major injuries, plastic surgeons as well as microsurgery specialists – who perform delicate procedures using a special operating microscope and smaller instruments – are available. Physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians and a pain management team help address problems associated with chronic conditions such as arthritis.
