James Maas

Dr. James Maas is a neurologist who specializes in caring for patients with movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease, essential tremor and dystonia.

Maas' research centers on the role of proteins implicated in Parkinson's disease, as well as molecules that determine function in dopamine-producing neurons (the cells that die in people with Parkinson's).

Maas earned his medical degree from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where he also completed a doctorate in neuroscience. He then completed a residency in neuroscience at UCSF. He belongs to the American Academy of Neurology.
