Ellen Weber

MD FACEP

Emergency care physician
Dog lover and British mystery devotee

Dr. Ellen Weber specializes in emergency medicine.

Weber's research focuses on the emergency department's role in the larger health care system. She studies ways to improve patient care in the emergency department, including streamlining the flow of visits and reducing unnecessary testing.

Weber earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. At UCSF, she completed a residency in internal medicine.

Weber is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine in the United Kingdom. She is a member of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.

With an interest in expanding her specialty in other countries, Weber served as visiting faculty to support the development of Tanzania's first residency program in emergency medicine, at Muhimbili National Hospital in 2013. She has returned twice each year since then to mentor emergency medicine residents and junior faculty members conducting research in the field.

Weber lives in Marin County with her husband and yellow lab. When not working, she enjoys hiking, reading (especially mysteries) and cryptic crossword puzzles.
