Berkeley Outpatient Center
Berkeley Outpatient Center offers convenient primary care, specialty care, and lab and imaging services in the East Bay.
A collaboration between John Muir Health and UCSF Health, our center brings together doctors in a range of specialties – from audiology to dermatology, primary care, orthopedics and surgery. We share knowledge and coordinate your treatment so you receive the best possible care and expertise.
We provide urgent care for non-life-threatening medical conditions, such as coughs, fevers, sprains, cuts requiring stitches and even conditions requiring IV infusions.
The Berkeley Outpatient Center is also home to the UCSF-John Muir Health Cancer Center. Part of the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, this clinic offers a full range of care and world-class treatment for most cancers, as well as a variety of support services and educational resources.
Public transportation options include Ashby BART and various bus lines. If you come by car, you'll find us just off the Eastshore Freeway. Parking in the building is free.
Lab services for UCSF patients
UCSF patients check in and receive lab services on the second floor, suite 280. You must have a lab order from a UCSF provider. (These services were previously provided on the fourth floor.)
Our labs are committed to providing safe and excellent services. Walk-ins are welcome at this location, or you can schedule your next appointment for this location through the MyChart website or app.
This location offers a limited blood draw menu. If you are self-scheduling, please refer to our special test instruction page for information on where and when various tests are available.
Imaging services and results
We offer MRI, CT, PET-CT, X-ray, DEXA (an advanced type of X-ray that measures bone density) and ultrasound. In addition, we provide a range of breast imaging services, including screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasound exams, and image-guided biopsies using mammography or ultrasound.
Our state-of-the-art PET-CT scanner, the Biograph Vision 450, can detect very small changes in the body. The outstanding image quality improves accuracy and allows us to provide more precise diagnoses and more personalized care. We also can collect images more quickly, which shortens the exam time and lowers the radiation dose.
Providers: Please use the Breast Imaging Order Form for mammograms, breast ultrasounds and breast MRIs, and the Imaging Order Form for all other MRIs, CTs, ultrasounds and X-rays. Fax the completed form to (415) 353-7299.
Patients: Call (415) 353-3900 to schedule an imaging appointment. If you're an established UCSF patient, you may be able to schedule some appointments via MyChart. X-ray exams are on a walk-in basis and do not require an appointment.
For annual screening mammograms, new and existing patients can book a mammogram appointment online.
